The PRECRISIS project aims to enhance the protection of public spaces by preventing terrorist attacks and violent crimes (e.g., mass riots) and mitigating their impacts. The project fosters integrated, smarter, and innovative security by empowering law enforcement authorities (LEAs), first responders, public space managers, and other security stakeholders, while strengthening public-private cooperation. PRECRISIS will design, test, and implement cutting-edge, sustainable, and effective AI-based digital solutions and practical toolkits. These innovations will fully comply with ethical standards and data protection legislation, leveraging existing expertise, best practices, and security-by-design approaches to reduce vulnerabilities in urban public spaces, soft targets, and high-density environments such as crowded areas, mass gatherings, and special events. At the heart of the project lies the PRECRISIS Platform, a technological innovation aimed at identifying potential vulnerabilities and enhancing real-time risk management. Through this initiative, PRECRISIS contributes to the creation of safer, more resilient public spaces.
