AIxPA aims to develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI) solution specifically designed for the needs of Public Administrations (PAs). The main goal is to foster the structural adoption of AI by PAs, enhancing digital transformation, overcoming the current fragmented usage of AI and offering a scalable model to produce a significant impact on the territory. This objective implies working on all the aspects related to the adoption of AI in an integrated modality, i.e.: technological and methodological tools; know-how inside and outside the public administration; and operative capabilities concerning governmental, ethical, legal and organizational aspects. Accordingly, the workplan of the AIxPA project is structured in 4 actions:
- Designing, developing and deploying a technological platform based on AI technologies. The platform will provide tools for modeling, analysing, simulating and making decisions.
- Designing and developing an “AI toolbox”, i.e. a set of processes, models, algorithms and reusable tools aimed at fostering and enhancing the usage of the platform by PAs.
- Investigating a number of Use Cases (UC) and scenarios relevant for the provided AI solutions capable of creating a positive impact on PAs, citizens and enterprises, covering such areas of interest as Territory and Productive World.
- Implementing activities aimed at preserving the innovative value of the solution developed in the project and at analysing the aspects that could hinder its adoption.
Within the project, the following Use Cases will be investigated:
- Territory and Mobility: this UC will aim to provide systems for modeling, analysing and forecasting regarding territorial vulnerabilities, focusing on overtourism (human-related vulnerabilities) and on the effects of extreme weather events on the ground (environmental-related vulnerabilities).
- Productive World: this UC will aim to provide a set of tools designed to foster integrated policies to reconcile productive dynamics and family life, a pivotal factor to ensure both economic and social development.
